2018 Audi Q7 Review

As one of the top luxury crossovers in its class, the Audi Q7 offers some impressive performance and technology in a practical package. For 2018, Audi adds some upgrades to its equipment for even more convenience and comfort.

For drivers in Greenville, New Bern and Raleigh, we did the hard work for you. Read about all the features and upgrades added to the 2018 Audi Q7 with our in-depth review.

Despite its size, the 2018 Audi Q7 gets impressive power and torque from its supercharged 3.0-liter V6. This adds surprising agility to its heavy frame, and its feather-light steering makes it easy and comfortable to drive.

It also offers two driver-selectable steering modes, Comfort mode and Dynamic mode, which give you the option of a comfortable ride or the quick reflexes needed to handle tough curves. As always, the eight-speed transmission shifts smoothly and easily, and it's backed by a controlled and efficient braking system.

Q7 Interior

The 2018 Audi Q7's interior is attractive and luxurious, incorporating an ergonomic design and premium materials. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, split-folding second and third rows, and tri-zone climate control are all standard. Available options include ventilated and massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system and head-up display.

Audi's MMI interface is standard, with a 7-inch touchscreen, and the Virtual Cockpit, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and Android Auto and Apple Carplay integration are available for higher trim levels. All of Audi's technology is simple and intuitive, with a crisp voice and graphics. Lastly, though, the stereo systems range, each has excellent sound quality.

Active Safety Features

With the base trim, Audi Pre-Sense Basic with Pedestrian Detection is included, monitoring your surroundings to help prevent collisions. Front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera also add to its safety.

Moving up, the next trim level includes blind-spot monitoring with Pre-Sense rear added, as well as a 360-degree exterior camera. Other available safety options include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert and high beam assist.

Three rows allow for seven passengers to sit comfortably, and the panoramic sunroof keeps the cabin from feeling tight and cramped. That said, the third-row is best-suited for smaller passengers or children, since larger adults may find it confining.

For cargo, the power-folding third row, hands-free liftgate and low floor height make carting things around much easier. Its cargo capacity ranges from 14.8 to 71.6 cubic feet of usable space.

For towing, the four-cylinder 2018 Audi Q7 can comfortably haul 4,400 pounds without any sacrifice of handling or performance. That's well above average for its class.
