Audi A5 Coupe

Three different vehicles make up the high-performing Audi A5 series. However, we're going to start with what is perhaps the most common of this lineup: the 2018 Audi A5 Coupe. Many of the features and specs here will become mainstays in the remaining two models.

Performance Specs

While the 4-cylinder engine may have something of a reputation as being smaller or less powerful, the Audi A5 is always an exception to the rule. By adding turbocharged fuel stratified injection (TFSI®) and valvelift technologies, the 2018 A5 4-cylinder will outpace many garden-variety 6-cylinders.

With this engine, you'll regularly generate up to 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Nevertheless, you'll still be able to maintain 33 highway MPG and 24 city MPG.1

Lastly, quattro® all-wheel drive has been added to the A5, allowing you to handle precisely even in unfavorable road conditions.

Being a 2-door vehicle, the A5 Coupe is naturally a little bit smaller than other vehicles in the A5 family, offering room for only four passengers. Regardless, you'll still have 11.6 cubic feet of cargo room and 41.3 inches of legroom.

Several stylish features have been added, such as the panoramic sunroof and ambient interior LEDs. Both will add a touch of class to your ride. Throw in the 3-zone automatic climate control, and you'll have heightened comfort, too.

Finally, you'll have access to plenty of great technology, such as the voice control system and dual SD card slots. With these, entertainment will be at a high, as well.

Safety Features

Safety is a given in any Audi vehicle, thanks to their tremendously rigid designs. However, the A5 series features a pretty incredible suite of safety technology.

Audi pre sense® (both the basic and city versions) uses sensors and cameras to monitor the road around you and prevent collisions. That way, if another vehicle veers into your path (or vice versa), the car will stop autonomously.

Both adaptive cruise control with stop & go and lane keeping assist are great examples of this intuitive suite. They'll stay aware, even if you can't.

Audi A5 Sportback

The Sportback model differs mainly in terms of space. This 4-door sedan can seat up to six passengers, and pushes cargo room up to 21.8 cubic feet of space, making it the better choice for small families.

Ultimately, the powertrain is very similar. However, it does replace the 6-speed manual transmission found in the Coupe with a 7-speed S tronicdual-clutch automatic. This enhances economy slightly, boosting highway mileage to 34 MPG.1

Audi A5 Cabriolet

The Cabriolet is perhaps the most stylish model of the A5 series, maintaining all the same power and drivetrain specs of the Coupe with one major exterior difference: It's a convertible.

So, if you're interested in more compact space and higher power, but would prefer to feel the wind blowing back your hair, the Cabriolet is exactly what you need.
